Myth about learning to sew
4 Myths of sewing

As you might already know, if you dream of learning how to sew, your dream is most likely unachievable, right? That's 100% false. Let's bust some myths, shall we?

These are the 5 most common reasons many people say they can't learn to sew (and why they're totally untrue!)

The first myth There isn't time for me to learn! Learning to sew can take years if you rely on YouTube videos and struggle to understand patterns beyond your skill level. Moms often have short supplies of time due to their busy schedules. Remember, however, that learning to sew doesn't have to be a long-term commitment. It only takes a few minutes here and there to add up over time. A little dedication might surprise you at how quickly you can progress in your learning!

The second myth Taking up sewing as a hobby can be pretty expensive. You can learn to sew on an inexpensive machine and upcycle clothes rather than buying fabric from the store. By doing this instead of buying clothes from the rack, you can save a great deal of money in the long run. To buy fabric click here

The third myth To sew different types of fabrics, you need different types of machines. There is no need to purchase a serger or cover stitch machine in order to make amazing and professional-looking clothes for yourself and your family. They are nice to have, aren't they? Yes, of course. Nevertheless, you can make incredible pieces with a simple sewing machine if you know how to do it right. The fourth myth Sewing requires a lot of space. Is there a kitchen table in your house? That's awesome! In this case, you have a wonderful space in which to sew. You don't have to let these sewing myths keep you from exploring this fun and creative hobby. Practicing and time will help you learn how to sew beautifully and make beautiful things for yourself and your family. Happy sewing, Gellis at Infinite Modesty Designs
